Activation and Provision of
Data
The following sections explain how you activate aggregates and fill them with data.
● If you have created or changed an aggregate, you have to activate it and fill it with data before you can use it when you execute a query. See Activating and Filling Aggregates.
● If you have loaded new data packages (requests) to the InfoCube, you have to roll up these data packages into aggregates before the current data is available for reporting on the aggregate. See Rolling Up Data in Aggregates.
● If the hierarchies and attributes of characteristics that belong to an InfoCube have been changed, you have to make structural changes to the aggregates to modify the data accordingly. See System Response Upon Changes to Master Data and Hierarchies.
● You can make the data load more efficient both when initially filling the aggregate and during roll up. See Loading Data into Aggregates Efficiently.
