Object documentationInteractive Reports for Databases - Overview

The reports on the Overview tab page provide an overview of multiple databases (see also Interactive Reports for Databases). For each report, one value is displayed for each database; that is, you do not see the development over time of the metrics displayed in these reports, but rather an average value for the selected time period. The metrics are displayed both graphically and in a table.

The reports therefore provide you with a comparison of the most important metrics for the databases that are relevant ffor you, so that you can quickly identify outliers for particular metrics. You can then use the respective reports for the individual databases to perform a more detailed investigation.

Note Note

For information about how you can specify the desired systems and the time interval to be displayed, and how to call Interactive Reporting, see Using Interactive Reporting.

End of the note.

Structure

The following reports are displayed:

  • Database Availability (Start of the navigation path Availability Next navigation step DB Availability End of the navigation path)

The report specifies the availability of the selected databases. There are three possible values:

    • Available

    • Not available

    • No availability measurements

    Note Note

No availability measurements means that the number of actual measurements does not meet the expected number of measurements calculated from the measurement frequency. These missing measurements could indicate a non-availability of the database, but this is not necessarily the case.

    End of the note.
  • Deadlocks (Start of the navigation path Exceptions Next navigation step Deadlocks End of the navigation path)

The report shows the total number of deadlocks on the chosen databases. This is a situation in which two or more processes deadlock and each process waits for another process to release the lock.

  • Database Usage (Start of the navigation path Capacity Next navigation step DB Utilization End of the navigation path)

The report displays the usage and growth of the selected database; for the database usage, the following metrics are shown as percentages, and in the quick info in Gigabytes:

    • Database memory used

    • Free memory in the database

    • Memory available to the database in the file system

    Note Note

For the listed metrics, this report displays the mean value for the relevant period, rather than the most recently reported value, unlike the report Start of the navigation path <Database> Next navigation step Capacity Next navigation step DB Utilization End of the navigation path (see Interactive Reports for Databases - Capacity).

    End of the note.
  • Database Logs (Start of the navigation path Capacity Next navigation step Log Utilization End of the navigation path)

For the chosen databases, the report shows the load and remaining free memory space in the log memory, that is, the memory space that is used for logs in the respective database. The corresponding sizes are output in percent, and the quick info is output in gigabytes.
