Procedure documentationOverriding the Test Scope Manually

You can put individual business process hierarchy nodes in the test scope, even if they don't need to be tested, because of the optimization. You can also remove individual nodes from the test scope, which the optimization included in the test.

Procedure

  1. Show the Business Process Hierarchy, in the display area.

  2. Go to the row for the node.

All rows with nodes which are currently in the test scope, are selected.

  3. To put a node in the test scope: Choose Ctrl, and select the rows which are not yet selected.

  4. To remove a node from the test scope: Choose Ctrl, and deselect the selected rows.

  5. Choose Apply and Save.

The status in the Area of a Business Process Blueprint Node column allows you to identify whether a node was manually overridden. This column also contains specific status information for nodes that the system has moved to a certain area based on the Business Process Hierarchy options or criticality options.

When you use the manual override function, you change the optimization sequence. The test scope is therefore recalculated for the specified test coverage and time required values.

The graphical display is automatically updated. The manually added nodes are separated from the rest of the nodes, at the left-hand side of the diagram, by a black line. The manually removed nodes are separated from the rest of the nodes, at the right-hand side of the diagram, by a black line.

  6. Optional: To cancel all manual changes, choose Reset Manual Selection.
