Procedure documentationChecking Transports

Before you start an import into a production system, you want to compare the software level of your production system with that of your development system.

Prerequisites

  • A task list exists whose status is Active.

  • You have been assigned the SAP_CM_DEVELOPER_COMP role in the SAP Solution Manager system.

Procedure

To check the state of software distribution for a certain system within a maintenance cycle, proceed as follows:

  1. Call transaction /TMWFLOW/MAINTINST.

  2. Select the project type tab page for your project.

  3. Click the task list for which you need to check transports.

  4. Under the task node of the production system, select Check Transports and then start the action by clicking Execute task.

On the screen that appears, you see the project analysis of the change tracking function. For more information, see Tracking Changes for a Project.

  5. Choose Back.

The task list is displayed again.

  6. Check the status of your task. If you need more information about the task, check the application log in the Daily overview of the task list.

Result

You see an overview of the software state in your production system compared with the development system. To decide whether you can start the import into the production system, we recommend that you check the kernel, SAP Note, and Support Package level, as well as the sequence and completeness of the transports.
