Procedure documentationCreate Interfaces for Business Process Monitoring

You can create interfaces for the processes in a solution or a project, centrally, and reuse them in various processes. You then only have to assign the required information, e.g. logical components used, once.

You need interfaces for business process and interface monitoring.

Prerequisites

  • You have imported ST-SER 700_2008_1 or higher into your Solution Manager system. This function is only then visible in your system.

  • You have created a solution or project.

  • You are in the Solution Directory in your solution, or in the Business Blueprint in your project.

Procedure

  1. Create interface scenarios:

    Note Note

Interface scenarios are groups of related interfaces.

    End of the note.
    1. Choose Interface Scenarios in the structure tree.

    2. Choose the Structure tab. See Creating and Editing Project/Solution Structure for further information.

    3. To create an interface scenario:

      • Create new interface scenario in the field Interfaces <element>

      • Copy existing interface scenarios from a solution:

        1. Choose the source Solution.

        2. Choose an interface scenario from the value help for the field Interfaces <element>.

        3. You can choose a copy option for documents, under Copy Options.

        4. Choose Copy.

The system copies the interface scenario.

      • Copy existing interface scenarios from a project:

        1. Choose the source Project.

        2. Choose an interface scenario from the value help for the field Interfaces <element>.

        3. You can choose a copy option for documents, under Copy Options.

        4. Copy the scenario or link to it.

If you link to the scenario, the system does not show it in the structure tree.

    4. You can assign documents to the structure elements in the Documentation tab. For more information, see Processing Documents.

  2. Create interfaces:

    1. Choose your interface scenario in the structure tree.

    2. Create interfaces in the field Interfaces <element> in the Structure tab, or copy existing interfaces.

    3. Assign the following data to the interface, from the value help:

      Field

      Meaning

      Sending logical component

Logical Component which sends a query to the receiving logical component, via the interface

      Receiving logical component

Logical Component which receives a query from the sending logical component, via the interface

      Technology

      Interface technologie, e.g. ALE

      Type

      Interface type, e.g. synchronous.

    4. Save your changes.

    5. You can assign attributes, e.g. person responsible or routing information, to the interfaces with Attributes in the Structure tab.

    6. You can assign documents to the structure elements in the Documentation tab. For more information, see Processing Documents.

  3. You can create interface steps, to describe in detail what happens in the sending and receiving component. It is possible to assign any logical component of the project/solution landscape for interface steps.

    1. Choose an interface in the structure tree.

    2. Create interface steps in the field Interfaces <element> in the Structure tab, or copy existing interface steps.

    3. You can assign documents to the structure elements in the Documentation tab. For more information, see Processing Documents.

Result

In the Component View tab, you can Assign Interfaces to Business Processes.
