Procedure documentationExecuting an Ad Hoc Report

You can execute one time, ad hoc reports for a list of systems. You can compare your systems with a reference system (real system or virtual target system), or you can enter target values for a single configuration item (such as note, software level, or security setting) and check compliance across systems.

Prerequisites

To compare the configuration of your systems with a user-defined target configuration, create a target system. For more information, see Creating a Target System.

To report on several systems at once, create a comparison list. For more information, see Creating a Comparison List.

Procedure

  1. In the Root Cause Analysis work center, choose Configuration Validation.

  2. On the Report Execution tab, choose Reporting Templates.

  3. On the left side of the screen, you have the option to use either a reference system or a single reference item for your report.

    • For the reference system, select a real system or a virtual target system.

    • For the reference item, select a configuration store, and enter target values (using operators) for the configuration item. Choose Apply after entering values.

  4. On the right side of the screen, choose a comparison list.

  5. At the bottom of the screen, choose a reporting template.

  6. Execute the report.

    Note Note

You can save your selections as a custom report in the report directory, for later use. For reference items, the system automatically generates a target system to capture your entries.

    End of the note.

Result

The report is executed. If desired, you can use the BW navigational options to change the layout by adding or removing columns. You can copy the URL of the report variant and save it for later access using the Bookmark view of the Report Execution tab.
