Process documentationConfiguring Service Availability Management


To configure Service Availability Management, perform the following steps.


  1. To allow the system to send notifications to the contact person responsible, the LMDB administrator creates business partners. For more information, see Maintaining a Business Partner.

  2. In a guided procedure, select the business partner roles for the users to be notified about service outages, define the managed objects in scope, define threshold values for the availability of managed objects, and enable data collection and sending of notifications. For more information, see Setting Up Service Availablity Monitoring.

  3. Define the agreed service times of the components as in the SLA. For more information, see Scheduling Agreed Service Times.

  4. Optional: To group the managed objects monitored with SAM, define POWL queries.
