To be able to create a test case with a third-party test tool, the test tool must be installed on the SAP system under test (SUT) and registered to SAP Solution Manager. For more information, see Registering a Third-Party Test Tool.
To create a test configuration, you can do the following:
In the Test Management
work center:
In the Common Tasks
area, choose Easy Test Automation
.
You go to the SAP Solution Manager Test Automation Initial Screen
.
Select the Test Configuration
field and enter a name (an alphanumeric string of up to 30 characters,underscores are permitted; the name is not case-sensitive).
In the External Tool
field, select the third-party test tool.
In the Business Blueprint of a SAP Solution Manager project:
Choose a business process.
In the Test Configuration Type
field, select the third-party test tool.
In the Test Case
field, enter a name.
Choose Create Object
.
You go the Create Test Configuration
dialog box.
Enter the required data:
Title
: Choose a title according to the naming conventions of your organization.
Application Component
: Select the application component for the business process you want to test.
Package
: Select a transport package.
Choose the Configuration
tab page. In the System Data
area, do the following:
If a system data container already exists, select the system data container and the target system.
To create a new system data container, do the following:
In the System Data Container
field, enter a name.
Double-click on the data container name.
You go to the Create System Data Container
screen.
Enter data as required.
Save your entries.
Optional: On the Test Data
tab page, add an existing Test Data Container or create a new one.
If a test data container already exists, select the test data container.
To create a new test data container, do the following:
Choose Append Row
.
In the Test Data Container
field, enter a name.
Double-click on the data container name.
You go to the Create Test Data Container
screen.
Enter data as required.
Save your entries.
Optional: To maintain variants, choose the Variants
tab page. For more information, see Creating Variants in Test Configurations.
Save your entries.
The test case is created, and both the test configuration and the test script objects are saved.
To edit the test script, do the following:
On the Configuration
tab page, double-click on the Test Script
field.
You go to the Test Script Screen.
Choose Change
.
Choose Call External Tool
.
The third-party test script creation process is started.
Edit a test script and save.
When testing a test script created with a third party test tool, you can access the third party test tool log directly. For more information, see Displaying Third Party Test Tool Logs.
Save your entries.
The automated test case is created and can be used in test planning and test execution.
