Function documentationCreating Test Configurations in the Test Automation Framework

The Test Automation Framework allows you to manage the following components of automated test cases (test configurations):

  • Test scripts

  • System data containers

  • Test data containers

Fore more information, see Components of Automated Test Cases.

The Test Automation Framework allows you to create automated test cases by creating a test configuration and the related test script in a single step.

You can create either eCATT test cases or use external tools to create test cases.

You can edit, copy, rename, or delete test cases, and you can execute test cases and display execution logs.

The Test Automation Framework is integrated with the Solution Manager System Landscape. This means you do not have to create RFC destinations manually:

  • When creating system data containers, you assign logical components, while the RFC destinations are retrieved automatically.

  • When creating test data containers, you can specify the target system and refer to data elements in the target system. In this way, the Test Automation Framework can carry out plausibility checks at design time.

  • If the system role of a test plan is changed, for all test cases contained in the test plan the RFC destinations are derived automatically when the test cases are executed.

  • When editing a test script, the interface of transactions or function modules is imported automatically from the SAP Solution Manager system landscape and displayed, if a system data container is assigned to the test case.
