You can use Interactive Reporting to centrally display the development of the most important monitoring data for your monitored systems over time, to identify potential problems early, and to obtain an overview of the load, usage, availability, and performance of your systems, hosts, or databases.
The reports contain various periods, from the current day to the previous year, so you can see both the current, and the long-term development of the performance values. The values for each period are displayed in the appropriate level of detail.
The available reports are divided into the following four topic areas:
Availability
These report contain information about the availability of the selected element, and also display information about planned downtimes.
Performance
These reports contain information about the response times of the selected element.
Capacity
These reports contain information about the usage of the available capacity of the selected element. These reports therefore give you information about the capacity that is still free, for example, in the usage of different memory, or of the available CPUs.
Usage
These reports contain information about the usage of the selected element. You can find out, for example, how systems are used — both in terms of scope and topic areas.
Interactive Reporting is part of the Technical Monitoring work center in the Solution Manager.
You have set up interactive reporting in the setup of the Solution Manager (transaction SOLMAN_SETUP).
To call interactive reporting, in the navigation bar of the Technical Monitoring work center, choose the Interactive Reporting entry. Note the following points:
You can display the reporting data for the administered Systems, Scenarios, Databases, or Hosts. To do so, choose the respective radio button in the Type Selection group box in the navigation bar.
A list of the available elements, in accordance with your selection, is displayed in the Detailed Selection area. Select the elements for which you want to display interactive reporting.
If you have selected the radio button to display systems, the Detailed Selection area contains different tab pages for the different system types.
You can define and save your own queries that contain your own desired selection of the relevant elements. These are displayed on a separate tab page in the Detailed Selection area.
Note
For detailed information about how you can select the desired systems, hosts, databases, or scenarios for display, and about creating and using your own queries, see Selecting Systems, Scenarios, Hosts, and Databases for Display.
Once you have selected the desired elements, choose System Reports, Scenario Reports, Host Reports, or Database Reports. The reports are displayed on a new tab page under the Detailed Selection area. The following reports are available:
