Background documentation Suitable Objects for the Customizing Synchronization   Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

SAP has predefined customizing objects which you can use in the Customizing Distribution and Customizing Scout comparisons (Synchronization objects). You can also select other customizing objects for the Customizing Distribution or comparison, if you satisfy the following prerequisites.

Suitable customizing objects for Customizing Scout comparisons

Table and field names must be the same in the source and target systems. If this is not the case, create a synchronization object.

Suitable customizing objects for Customizing Distribution

General prerequisites

Table and field names must be the same in the source and target systems. If this is not the case, create a synchronization object. The Customizing Objects must not contain Before-Export methods, and must be at least manually transportable.

Prerequisites for the automatic distribution of customizing changes

Customizing objects which you want to use in the automatic distribution of customizing changes, must have an automatic transport connection, and be BC Set-compatible in the target system. When you set-up the Customizing Distribution, the system checks whether the objects which you selected are BC Set-compatible in the target system.

You can also check the BC Set-compatibility of objects in the IMG yourself before using the Customizing Distribution:

·        In the synchronization group editor (transaction scdt_groups) under Edit Delete BC Set-Incompatible Objects. BC Set-incompatible objects are flagged, and you can remove them.

·        You can check objects in all systems based on software component SAP_BASIS 4.6C and higher, with the Check IMG for BC Set-Compatibility program. Specifically, you can perform this check in SAP R/3 systems with Release 4.6C. For further information about the IMG check program, see SAP note 398178.

·        In all systems based on the software component SAP_BASIS 6.20 (e.g. SAP R/3 Enterprise) and higher, you can call a function to check the BC Set-compatibility, in the transaction SOBJ and in the Implementation Guide (IMG).

Objects for which you get a green icon for unchecked activation are suitable for the Customizing Distribution.
