The Alert Inbox gives you an overview of critical alerts (number of open alerts and status of alerts) from different monitoring areas such as business process monitoring, data consistency monitoring, job monitoring, etc. For example, chooseBP Mon Alerts to view all alerts from the business process monitoring, and to view all alerts from the job monitoring, , choose Jobmon Alerts.
When you select an alert, the system displays detailed information about the business context, in the Alerts table.
When you have analyzed the cause of the alert, you can confirm that it has been handled.
You are authorized to send incident messages, and to confirm the processing of alerts. For more information, see the SAP Solution Manager Security Guide in the SAP Service Marketplace, under

You can call the alert inbox in the Business Process Operations (New) work center.

The Alert Inbox comprises the following areas:
Active Queries
In this area, you manage your Alert Inbox, and can adjust the display to your requirements. You select the business context.
Do not change the default query. The system uses it to navigate from other objects, e.g. business processes monitoring, to the Alert Inbox.
Business context
The business context The business context allows you to navigate to the graphical representation of the business process. To do so, you choose the Navigate to Monitoring button.
The functions available depend on the business context, the authorizations of your user role, and your settings. This document only explains functions which are available to all users.
You can export the alert list into external files.
You create incident messages to report a problem to support. You can create incident messages in the following roles:
As a user or customer
As a support employee, on behalf of a user
You can create an incident message with a pushbutton, and send it to the position responsible.

You can confirm the processing of an alert by choosing the Confirm pushbutton. Your confirmation is automatically put in the alert list. You can enter a comment.
You can create and send notifications about alerts, to recipients.
You can adjust the alert list view to suit your requirements. You can display alerts by time, for example, you can display only those alerts for the last month.
