Procedure

  1. To specify the application area of your guided procedure, you have the following options:

    • To support handling of exceptions, do the following:

      1. In the Root Cause Analysis work center, choose the Exception Management scenario.

      2. Select an exception category.

      3. Under Instance Group, select a sub-category.

      4. Choose the Guided Procedures pushbutton.

    • To support administrative tasks, do the following:

      1. In the Technical Administration work center, choose the Guided Procedure Management scenario.

      2. Select the system on which the task is to be executed.

      3. Choose the Guided Procedure Browser pushbutton.

    • To support, for example, database maintenance activities,

      1. In the Business Process Operations work center, choose the Data Consistency scenario.

      2. Under Consistency Checks, choose Cross Database Comparison.

      3. On the Comparison Run Overview tab page, select a comparison run.

      4. Choose the Show Last Result pushbutton.

      5. Choose the Guided Procedure Browser pushbutton.

  2. Choose the Create pushbutton.

  3. You have the following options:

    • To copy an existing guided procedure and edit the steps, select Copy From.

    • To reuse an existing guided procedure, select Reference From.

      You can edit the steps you add, but you cannot edit or remove referenced steps.

    • To create a new guided procedure, choose Create New Guided Procedure.

  4. Enter a meaningful name and description describing the activity supported by the guided procedure, and choose Next.

  5. Depending on your authorization, select an existing transport request or create a new one, and choose Next.

  6. Optional: Under Search Attributes assign the guided procedure to a product or system type, and choose Next. For more information, see Releasing a Guided Procedure and Editing Attributes.

  7. Choose the Create pushbutton.

    You go the Maintain Guided Procedure screen.
