The Offline Analysis item in the navigation area gives access to various other applications associated with the Root Cause Analysis work center features. To access the available applications, choose the corresponding link.

Prerequisites

In some cases, local client software modules have to be installed to support the full functionality of the external servers.

Features

The following Offline Analysis tools and applications are available:

  • End-to-End Trace: The link launches the end-to-end trace analysis application as described in the End-to-End Analysis Overview.

For more information, see: Trace Analysis.

  • Introscope Workstation: The link launches the Introscope Starter panel, which shows all available Enterprise Manager repositories in a list, along with their related Online Status. Select one or more Enterprise Manager host(s) from the list, and click the Start Introscope pushbutton to launch the Introscope Workstation application.

For more information, see: Performance Metrics Monitoring with Introscope by Wily.

  • Introscope Webview: The link launches the Introscope Starter panel, which shows all available Enterprise Manager repositories in a list, along with their related Online Status. Select one or more Enterprise Manager host(s) from the list, and click the Start Introscope pushbutton to launch the Introscope Webview web application.

  • Thread Memory Analysis: The link launches a tool that is used to monitor several selected JVM systems with common memory analysis functions, without the need for any manual file transfers. Since the tool is generic for all types of Java VMs, only common information is available. For in-depth memory analyses, the tools from the JVM providers are recommended, for example PMAT for IBM-based JVMs.

  • Thread Dump Analysis: The link launches an interface which allows central triggering and scheduling of JVM based thread dumps for a certain or all J2EE node(s), the generated thread dumps and the analysis of the thread dump data are displayed for further analysis.

For more information, see: Thread Dump Analysis.

  • Landscape Browser: The link launches a panel that initially displays a list of all configured technical systems. If nothing is visible on the list, click either the Search, Show All, or Refresh pushbutton once to display the filled list. Select a system and obtain its Technical Details, or run a short system Check.

  • Self-Check: The link launches a tool that is used to run a health check of different components for the applications in the Solution Manager diagnostics environment.
