Workflow Monitoring 
Workflow Monitoring is a display function which allows you to use the technical monitoring framework in SAP Solution Manager to monitor custom business processes.
Prerequisites
You have implemented custom business processes in the SAP NetWeaver Business Process Management (BPM).
Activities
To display the Workflow Monitoring UI, do the following:
In the Technical Monitoring work center, under Interface Monitoring, choose the Workflow Monitoring tab page.
To specify the BPM systems you want to monitor, create or change a query.
The system displays the BPM technical systems that you have configured.
Select the system you want to monitor, and choose the Workflow Monitoring pushbutton.
The existing business processes and business process steps (tasks) are displayed on the associated tab pages.
To show details of process definitions, task definitions or processing time, choose the Show Details pushbutton.
To show a pie chart of the status of a process or task, in the table, select the row which contains the process or task.
If errors are displayed in the Error column, you have the following options:
To identify the instance of the process or task which failed, choose the SAP Netweaver Administrator link.
You can filter by the name of the process or task, identify the root cause of the error and inform the person responsible.
To identify critical trends, choose the SAP System Monitoring link.
Various metrics allow you to analyze historical data from SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse and identify possible problems, for example, too many pending tasks due to overload of systems or users.
To display alerts, choose the Alert Inbox link.
You have, for example, defined a threshold value for completed processes. An alert prompts you to archive the completed processes and clean up the database.
If errors occur in the task, an alert informs you.
