To perform automatic configuration, supported by CTC templates, you must activate the CTC runtime in J2EE. This can be the SAP Solution Manager Java stack, or a separate J2EE.

You only need to activate the CTC runtime once per J2EE.

Prerequisites

To be able to configure with CTC templates, you have installed at least SAP NetWeaver 7.0 EHP1 with Support Package 2. You activate the CTC runtime in the Java stack.

Process

In the SAP Solution Manager, you can activate the CTC runtime with the Automatic Technical Configuration application.

Note Note

If you use the SAP NetWeaver Administrator, you can run the CTC runtime from the Configuration Wizard.

When you activate the CTC runtime, the system performs various configuration, which you can follow in a status bar at the top of the screen. To be able to perform the configuration, you must enter the following configuration parameters:

  • Administration data for:

    • the SAP Solution Manager system

    • the J2EE on which you activate the CTC runtime

    • the ABAP stack against which you have configured the UME of the J2EE

  • Technical user data
