Area of Responsibility

The system filters the contents of the Business Process Operations work center by the selected area of responsibility.

There are the following areas of responsibility:

  • Data Consistency Management

  • Business Process Monitoring

  • Job Scheduling Management (only available in the Job Management work center)

Overview

Depending on the user role, the Business Process Monitoring and Data Consistency Management work areas are displayed in the content area of the overview. In each work area, there are links with the number of alerts for a status, which occurred in solutions or business processes. These links go directly to the corresponding work center view.

The following status values can be displayed:

  • Open Alerts

Open alerts have occurred in the past for solutions, and have not yet been analyzed and set to completed.

  • Current status

The current status of an alert has a rating.

The system groups alerts by color according to their rating:

Data Consistency Management

Data consistency management contains structured, context-specific instructions for all data consistency activities.

Here is an overview of already created tasks and tools for checking and restoring data consistency. You can call up the corresponding sessions or create new ones.

You can get the system to suggest tasks and tools for checking and restoring data consistency. The respective proposals depend on certain events as well as the specified SAP product or business object.

Reports: Business Process Operations

You can extract the data entered in Business Process Monitoring to an SAP NetWeaver BW system. In this system, for example, the data for the past weeks and months can be used to determine trends. This enables you to identify and avoid problem situations early on.

Depending on the system settings and your authorizations, you can open, change, or delete existing reports (SAP NetWeaver BW templates). When doing so, you access an SAP NetWeaver BW-based dashboard.

Business Process Analysis

You can analyze throughput and backlogs, graphically. The statistical analysis of your business processes allows you to:

  • Compare organizational units (such as sales organizations) with each other, so that you can localize bottlenecks and analyze their causes.

  • Identify trends, prevent critical developments, and optimize the implementation of your business processes.

Common Tasks

You can perform the following tasks from any view in the work center:

  • You can call the solution directory for a selected solution.

  • You can call Business Process Monitoring for a selected solution, for example, to configure the alert settings.

  • You can call the business process analysis, to analyze business processes graphically.

  • You can call the managed system data consistency check.
