Use

You can use Transport Organizer Web UI to administer and perform transport activities for non-ABAP systems.

Layout of Transport Organizer Web UI

The top half of the Transport Organizer Web UI screen shows you transport requests in a request list. Here you can use various pushbuttons to edit your own transport requests, or the requests of another user. You can find the transport request number, description of the transport request, the responsible person, and the Project Assignment, if provided, in this list. The bottom half of the screen consists of information on tab pages. The information displayed depends on the settings and activities configured in the request list. The bottom half of the screen also offers various change functions, such as functions for attaching or deleting objects under Object List.

Settings for Editing Transport Requests

Make the following settings before you start to edit the transport requests:

  • Configure a user

When you start Transport Organizer Web UI, the Responsible field shows you the name of the user who is logged on to the system, generally your own. All transport requests that you have created yourself or which you are involved in are displayed. If you have an appropriate authorization, you can also display and process the transport requests of other users. You can either enter this directly or select it from the input help using different search criteria. You must then refresh the top half of the screen to display the transport requests created and edited by the other user. The transport requests are displayed in the refreshed request list, and can now be edited by you.

  • Select a status

The status of a transport request indicates whether it is still being processed (Modifiable) or whether it has been Released. When you start Transport Organizer Web UI, the Status field changes to Modifiable automatically. This means that all transport requests are displayed that are not yet released.

When you set the request status to Released, all released requests of the currently displayed user are displayed. The pushbuttons for modifying the transport requests are inactive. The dropdown menu with the time of the release appears. You can select a time frame in the dropdown menu (such as Since Yesterday) to display all transport requests released in the relevant period.

Detail View

The bottom half of the screen provides you with the following display and editing functions on the tab pages:

  • Properties

On this tab page you can display the properties (such as the description, responsible user, or target system) of the selected transport requests, and change these properties if necessary.

  • Attributes

On this tab page you can display and add attributes that identify the transport request more closely.

The system shows only obligatory attributes that are defined for this system. You must specify an attribute value before you release a transport request. Otherwise you cannot release the transport request correctly.

You can add further, non-obligatory attributes to the transport request. To be able to save the attribute, specify an attribute value. Otherwise the system deletes the attribute from the transport request.

The system only displays attributes assigned externally. These entries cannot be changed.

For more information about request attributes, see Request Attributes.

  • Object List

On this tab page you can display a list of the objects attached to a transport request.

For further information, refer to Using the Object List.

  • Team

On this tab page you can use the Add User pushbutton to add further users to a transport request. The Team tab is no longer displayed for released transport requests.

For more information, see Adding Users to a Transport Request.

  • Logs

Once you have released a transport request, you can use this tab page to track the status of the transport request and display the associated transport logs by selecting the system. The Logs tab page is only displayed for released transport requests.

For more information, see Displaying the Transport Status and Transport Logs.
