If you suspect, for example, that incorrect templates are the cause of a problem, you can test the templates currently used in your system.

In the Extractor Framework, incorrect templates can, for example, cause the following problems:

  • Missing extractor.

  • You have deleted an incorrect extractor, and restarted the managed system. The problem still occurs.

Prerequisites

You are in the SAP Solution Manager Management work center.

Procedure

  1. Choose the Content view.

  2. Choose Overview.

    The status of the templates used is displayed.

  3. Select the template you want to check.

  4. Choose Check.

  5. If errors occur, choose Root Cause Analysis.

  6. To resolve the error in the template, choose the appropriate tab:

    • In the Repository tab, you can upload a template for the configuration and change database, provided by SAP support.

    • You can identify the reasons for incorrect extractor templates, in the Extractors tab:

      1. Filter incorrect extractors.

      2. Place the cursor in the Status column of the incorrect extractor template.

        The error message is shown as a tooltip.

    • On the Views tab, you can:

      • You can download an incorrect configuration file, to attach it to a support message.

      • You can upload a configuration file updated by SAP support. The current version of the configuration file is in SAP Note 1259109.

        Note Note

        The content of the configuration file (config.xml) controls how the UI is structured for the applications E2E Workload Analysis, E2E Change Analysis, E2E Exception Analysis, E2E Database Analysis, E2E Host Analysis, and Interactive Reporting. It also controls data extraction from the Introscope Enterprise Manager for the E2E workload analysis. The check for configuration file config.xml checks semantic and syntactic correctness from the perspective of the applications listed.
