You can use this function to create and edit job documentation in the Job Management work center.

Prerequisites

The following prerequisites are necessary:

  • You have made the required settings in SAP Solution Manager Customizing, under   Capabilities  .

  • Depending on the scenarios you use, make the following settings:

    • You have entered the data in the Solution Manager System Landscape transaction (SMSY). For more information, see Edit Logical Components.

    • You have created the business processes in the Solution Manager System Landscape transaction (SMSY).

    • You have activated business process monitoring, to monitor background processing. For more information, see Business Process and Interface Monitoring.

    • You have set up the RFC connection to the production system in the Solution Manager System Landscape transaction (SMSY).

    • You have assigned the authorizations for the BC-XBP interface and job scheduling to the RFC users.

Features

You can use the following tab pages to edit the job documentation and enter information about the job documentation:

  • General tab

    On this tab, you enter general information about the job documentation, for example, the name of the job documentation or which steps of a job the job documentation covers.

  • Job Chain Structure tab (only available for von job chain documentation)

    On this tab page, you link the documentation of the jobs in a job chain to the job chain documentation. This link has the following dimensions:

    • Steps

      The system performs the steps in a job chain sequentially.

    • Jobs

      The system performs the jobs in a step in parallel.

  • Organization tab

    On this tab, you document which organization is responsible for the job. You also specify why the job is necessary and which priority it has.

  • Systems tab

    On this tab, you specify in which systems the job is scheduled or for which systems the job is documented in this job documentation. You assign one or more logical components to the job documentation. You can assign the logical components directly or indirectly with the assignment of a solution.

  • Errors tab

    On this tab, you document error handling.

  • Contact Person tab

    On this tab, you specify the contact persons for areas such as job documentation, job development, job scheduling or job monitoring.

  • Restrictions tab.

    On this tab, you document which restrictions have to be taken into account in scheduling the job, for example, whether another job has to run before or after this job.

  • Authorizations tab

    On this tab, you document the authorizations required for scheduling this job.

    For more information, see Editing the Authorizations Tab.

  • Tasks tab

    On this tab, you specify the tasks required for the job documentation. You can then assign the tasks to employees.

  • Documents tab

    On this tab, you add documents or references to documents to the job documentation.

  • Changes tab

    On this tab, you document the change requests that the employees have submitted for the job as well as all changes to the job documentation.
