Procedure documentationCreating Templates for Requests for Change Locate this document in the navigation structure

If you often create requests for change with the same data in your projects, you can create templates with the data that is always contained in your requests for change. This allows you to minimize the time required to create a request for change.

Note Note

Similar to requests for change and change documents, templates for requests for change are also based on business transactions. The transaction type provided for the request for change template in the standard system is SMCT. Your settings are the same as those for the request for change (SMCR), but there is a separate status profile and a separate date profile, allowing the validity of a request for change to be specified.

End of the note.

Prerequisites

You have maintained the copy control for transaction types so that the transaction type SMCT can be copied to SMCR, that is, you have specified SMCT as source transaction type, and SMCR as target transaction type. In Customizing, choose   SAP Solution Manager   Capabilities   Change Control Management   Standard Configuration   Transaction Types   Define Copying Control for Transaction Types  .

Procedure

  1. In the navigation bar of the WebClient UI, choose   Change Request Mgmt   Request for Change Templates  .

On the following screen, you can search for existing templates or create a new template.

  2. Choose New.

The system displays a blank input screen for a request for change.

  3. Enter all the data that is supposed to be part of your template and that you often need to create requests for change, for example, the change manager, the change advisory board, and standard documents. Give your template a name.

  4. In the Dates assignment block, specify the required validity of the template.

  5. Choose   Actions   Release Template  .

The template can now be used (or can be used as of the validity period) to create request for changes. You can process the template again, invalidate it temporarily, or close it completely, later.

  6. Choose Save.

Result

You have created a template for requests for change. You can now display it in the search for templates for requests for change and use it for creating requests for change.
