This process processes job requests in the Service Desk.

Prerequisites

  • You have made the necessary system settings for the Job Scheduling scenario. For more information, see the SAP Solution Manager customizing, under   Capabilities   Service Desk  .

Job Management with Service Desk

  1. The end user creates a job request based on a Service Desk message. For more information, see Creating Job Requests for New Jobs.

  2. The Service Desk employee can forward the Service Desk message to a processor responsible for the area.

  3. The current processor either creates new job documentation or assigns the Service Desk message to existing job documentation.

    • Create new job documentation.

      1. The system copies the data from the job application directly into the job documentation.

      2. You can then edit the job documentation.

      or

    • Assign existing job documentation.

      1. You display the changes to the job documentation and check them.

      2. You update the job documentation with the job request data.

Result

The job documentation is updated. The Service Desk employee can also make further changes to the job documentation, for example, copy job parameters from the production system to other systems, such as a test system or a development system.
