You use this procedure to manage the tasks of various applications or application—independent tasks, centrally.

Procedure

  1. Navigate to the Technical Administration work center.

    For more information, see Using the Work Center.

  2. In the navigation area, choose Task Inbox.

Managing Tasks by Application
  1. To view the tasks by application, choose By Application.

  2. To display the tasks by time, choose one of the following:

    • To display the tasks in a new window, choose Start New Window.

    • To display the tasks in the work center, choose Start Embedded.

  3. In the Active Queries area, select a query.

  4. In the tabular view, select the task.

  5. To process a task, choose Process Task.

    You go to the appropriate application for performing the task.

  6. Perform the required task.

  7. To create an application-independent task:

    1. Choose   My ad hoc, non-preconfigured Tasks   Create  .

    2. To define the type of task to be created, choose one of the following options:

      • To create a simple task, choose Lean Task.

      • To create a complex task, which is a collection of multiple tasks, choose Complex Task.

    3. Enter the required data.

Managing Tasks by Timing
  1. To view the tasks by time, choose By Time.

  2. To display the tasks by time, choose one of the following:

    • To display the tasks in a new window, choose Start New Window.

    • To display the tasks in the work center, choose Start Embedded.

  3. In the Show Tasks area, select the required option.

  4. In the Active Queries area, select the appropriate query.

  5. To search for tasks based on application areas, choose Show Quick Criteria Maintenance.

  6. Enter the required data.

  7. To create an application-independent task, perform the following:

    1. Choose Create.

    2. To define the type of task to be created, choose one of the following options:

      • To create a simple task, choose Lean Task.

      • To create a complex task, which is a collection of multiple tasks, choose Complex Task.

    3. Enter the required data.
