You can create and edit job documentation in the Job Management work center.

Prerequisites

For information on the prerequisites, see Job Documentation.

Procedure

To create new job documentation:

  • In the navigation area of the Job Management work center under Common Tasks choose Create Job Documentation.

    A window for creating and editing job documentation appears.

Note Note

If you have already created job documentation, you can open this and edit it. In the Job Management work center, choose the Job Documentation view. Choose the title of the corresponding job documentation from the job documentation list. A window for creating and editing job documentation appears.

To edit job documentation in the window, (in addition to the tabs) the following functions are available to you:

  • Display versions

    If old versions of job documentation are available, you can call them up.

    1. Choose Versions.

      A dialog box appears that displays all documentation versions.

    2. Select the corresponding version and choose Display.

      The version of the job documentation is displayed in a new dialog box.

  • Call print preview

    The print preview enables you to save the opened job documentation as a PDF document or to open it directly and then print it.

    • Choose Print Preview.

      The dialog box opens that enables you to save the job documentation as a PDF document or to open it directly and then print it.

    In Customizing you can replace the SAP standard print preview with a customer-specific print preview.

  • Create job request

    You can assign a job to a job documentation by creating a job request.

    • Choose Create Job Request.

      The application for creating a job request opens.

  • Run macro

    You can simplify editing job documentation by running macros. This can be useful, for example, if you need to perform the same work steps several times.

    Note Note

    You create macros in the RAGS_CREATE_JOBDOC_MACRO program (transaction SA38).

    • Select the corresponding macro under Macro.

      The system performs the work steps defined in the macro.

  • Add to favorites

    You can save individual job documents as favorites in the dialog box for creating and editing job documentation. This enables you to call up other job documentation quickly, for example, to compare different job documentation.

    • To same the job documentation currently open as a favorite, choose Add.

      The system saves an entry for the job documentation currently open under Goto.

    • To call up another job document saved under Goto in addition to the job documentation currently open, choose the corresponding job documentation under Goto.
