There are procedure types that specify which actions the system triggers at pre-defined times in the test organization and during testing, for Workflow. Default procedure types:

  • Procedure type TWTP (test plan tester)

The system creates a procedure document for each tester assigned at least one test package of the test plan.

    Note Note

The procedure number of the document shows the system on the screen for processing test sequences and assigning testers on the Tester tab.

    End of the note.
  • Procedure type TWSQ (test sequence)

The system creates a procedure document for each test sequence.

    Note Note

The system displays the procedure number of the document on the screen for processing test sequences and assigning testers by   Sequences   Display Sequences  .

    End of the note.

The document flow shows the development of the business process. Once the procedure has reached a specific user status, you can use the procedure document to check if the system has executed an action correctly.

Features

Information in the Procedure Document

The procedure document contains the following workflow information:

  • Document and log status information

The log shows the history of the status in the procedure, and additional information.

For example, for procedure type TWTP these are the released test packages. For procedure type TWSQ for example, this is the tester responsible for testing the next test case.

  • Partner data

Displays who is responsible for the test plan, and the tester.

For procedure type TWTP, the system always displays the assigned tester. For procedure type TWSQ, the system displays the last tester or the last completed action.

  • Actions and processing log

Shows the status of actions, for example which actions are scheduled and if they have been completed successfully.

The processing log displays the error and success messages for each action performed.

Processing Events

The system updates the documents as follows, depending on the procedure type:

  • Procedure type TWTP (test plan tester)

    • When you release the test plan and all assigned, not-locked test packages. You change the release status of the test plan and the new status unlocks testing.

The system then creates a procedure document for each tester of the test plan, or changes it if it already exists.

    • If you lock the test plan for testing, and all previously released test packages. You change the release status of the test plan and the new status unlocks testing.

    • If you delete the tester assignment to the test package in a release status where the execution and change locks are not active (for example REOPEN_URGENT).

    • If you delete a test package from the test plan in a release status where the execution and change locks are not active.

    • If you assign a tester to a test package in a release status where the execution and change locks are not active.

  • Procedure type TWSQ (test sequence)

    • When you release the test plan and all assigned, not-locked test packages.

The system then creates a procedure document for each test sequence, or changes it if it already exists. The system enters the first tester assigned in a test sequence, into the document.

    • If you edit the test plan in a release status in which execution and change are not locked (for example REOPEN_URGENT), and then set a release status in which testing is not locked (for example, RELEASED). The system only creates procedure documents for newly created test sequences.

    • If a tester sets a processing status that triggers a change to the Test Complete flag.

    • If you change the tester assignment at test case level for a test plan in a release status in which execution and change are not locked, changing the responsibility for the current test case in the test sequence.

Note Note

You can define and schedule your own actions in an action profile. You need your own procedure types to which you assign these actions. For more information, see Customizing for SAP Solution Manager under   SAP Solution Manager   Capabilities   Test Management   Extended Configuration   Workflow  .

End of the note.

To display a procedure document, call Procedure Processing (transaction CRMD_ORDER).
