Function documentationEditing of Master Data in the Material Master

You can integrate the user interfaces for editing some assignments into the applications for editing the material master:

This allows you to create, display, and edit article and packaging master data directly for a material master record.

Prerequisites

To integrate the editing interfaces into the applications for editing the material master, you must process the following Customizing activities:

  • You have made yourself familiar with the setting up of screen sequences for material master processing and defined the required screen sequences under Start of the navigation path Logistics - General Next navigation step Material Master Next navigation step Configuring the Material Master (New Screen Sequences) End of the navigation path.

As the template, you can use the following screen sequences that are supplied as examples:

    • RA Ind-Std Article Main Screen

    • RB Ind-Std Article Secondary Screen

    • RC Ind-Std Packaging Main Screen

    • RD Ind-Std Packaging Secondary Screen

The following examples of Retail screen sequences are available:

    • RE Retail Article Main Screen

    • RF Retail Article Secondary Screen

    • RG Retail Packaging Main Screen

    • RH Retail Packaging Secondary Screen

In these templates, you can find the system objects relevant for articles and packaging to set up the screen sequences.

  • You have activated the implementation J7L_BADI_MATERIAL_OD under Start of the navigation path Logistics - General Next navigation step Material Master Next navigation step Enhancements Next navigation step Integration of New Objects (Industry and Retail) End of the navigation path.

  • If necessary, under Start of the navigation path Recycling Administration Next navigation step Adjustment Next navigation step Business Add-Ins (BAdIs) Next navigation step BAdI: Default Values for Master Data (Material Master) End of the navigation path, you have defined default values for the user interfaces that you have integrated in the applications for processing the material master.

Features

Depending on the Customizing settings, there is one main screen (independent tab) or one secondary screen (screen area within a tab) available in the applications for processing the material master for each of the following assignments:

  • Assignment of recycling partners to articles

  • Assignment of packaging to articles

  • Assignment of recycling partners to packaging

  • Assignment of fractions to packaging

In these screens, the important functions and fields are available for editing the assignments. In particular, the following functions and fields are, however, not available or only available in restricted form:

  • Versions

If you use this function, you can only work with one version. The system displays the following behavior:

    • Display assignments: The system displays the version valid on the current date.

    • Create assignments: The system automatically creates a version 1 with a validity period from the current date through 12/31/9999.

  • Variants

If you use this function, you can only work with one variant. The system displays the following behavior:

    • Display assignments: The system displays the variant with an empty string as the key value.

    • Create assignments: The system creates the variant with an empty string as the key value.

    Note Note

Note that in the material master in the screen sequences for the SAP Retail component, a Variant field is displayed in the header data. This field does not represent the variant in the Recycling Administration component, but is the variant in the SAP Retail component.

Also note in this context that this function does not support the variant concept of the SAP Retail component. The assignment properties of packaging and articles of a higher-level material are not passed down to a lower-level variant. You must edit these properties for each material and for each variant separately.

    End of the note.

If you want to work with more than one variant or version, you must use the standard applications for editing master data in the Recycling Administration component.
