To be able to use certain functions in the claim bundle, you need what is known as a “dummy claim”. The dummy claim is not a real claim, but a technical object that is used to
make certain Customizing settings of an internal claim type available to the claim bundle (such as Customizing for notes)
store certain data that you enter at the level of the claim bundle in the database tables for claim processing. This means that functions that are available for processing a claim can be reused when processing a claim bundle.
To be able to use a dummy claim, you must perform the following steps:
Create an internal claim type with the required Customizing settings (such as those for notes) (path:
).Assign the internal claim type from Step 1 to a combination of policy product and incident type (Customizing path:
).Assign the combination of policy product and incident type to a claim bundle subtype (Customizing path:
).The system takes the combination of policy product and incident type to derive the internal claim type that you assigned in Step 2.
The dummy claim is absolutely essential for processing the following claim bundles:
You can only use the required Customizing settings for processing notes in the claim bundle if you have a dummy claim.
Structured Facts Capture in the Claim Bundle
You can only use the required Customizing settings for facts capture in the claim bundle if you have a dummy claim.
You can only save payments in the collective invoice header if you have a dummy claim. You can only process these payments from the collective invoice.
Mapping of Collective Subrogation/Recovery
You can only save subrogation receivables if you have a dummy claim.
Note the following with the dummy claim:
When you create a claim bundle, the system automatically creates a dummy claim in the background. When the claim bundle is processed further, the system saves the data captured (such as data in notes or in facts capture) in the dummy claim.
The prerequisite here is that you have performed the steps under “Prerequisites”.
When you are processing a claim bundle, you can view the dummy claim associated with the claim bundle in display mode. Choose
.It is not possible to process a dummy claim manually by using transaction ICLCDC02
(Change Claim Bundle
).
With a dummy claim, the indicator XDUMMYCLAIM
is set in table ICLCLAIM
.
A dummy claim and the associated claim subobjects are not displayed in evaluation reports.
You must use a dummy claim if you use any of the scenarios listed under “Integration”.
