 Creating Policy Products

Prerequisites

You have performed the IMG activities as described under Administration of Policy Products in the "Prerequisites" section.

Procedure

  1. In the Implementation Guide (IMG) for SAP Insurance , choose Start of the navigation path Claims Management Next navigation step Claim Next navigation step Product Configuration Next navigation step Configure Policy Products End of the navigation path .

  2. Choose Start of the navigation path Policy Product Next navigation step Create. End of the navigation path

  3. Maintain the following fields:

    Field

    Description

    Policy product

    Enter a five-character ID for the policy product. The ID can consist of numeric and alphanumeric characters.

    Policy product

    Enter a description for the policy product.

    Valid from

    Enter the date from which this policy product is valid.

    Time

    Enter the time from which this policy product is valid.

  4. Confirm your entries with Continue .

    The new policy product appears in the Configure Policy Product overview screen. The new policy product at this point has pending (suspense) status. This means that it has not yet been activated, and that the new policy product cannot yet be used in the Claims Management system. You can recognize the status by the abbreviation "S" in the Active field.

    You do not have to activate as long as you still have to make other settings. The policy product is activated after the settings have been completed.

  5. To make other settings for the policy product, select the policy product and choose Change .

    The Change View Generation of Policy Product: Overview screen appears. Here you see a navigation tree on the left, and the relevant processing screen on the right. The Generation of Policy Product node has been selected automatically.

    You can now navigate between the settings in the navigation tree. In the right part of the screen, the system displays the processing screen for the node you have selected in the navigation tree.

  6. Enter free text in the Change View Generation of Policy Product: Overview screen.

  7. Select your entry and choose the Policy Product Version node in the navigation tree.

  8. Enter the required data in the right of the processing screen.

  9. In the navigation tree, choose Permitted Coverage Types .

  10. Assign the desired coverage types to the policy product.

  11. Save your entries.

  12. Activate the policy product .

  13. Make the desired settings for the time reference of the newly created policy product in the IMG activity Define Time Reference per Policy Product (IMG path Start of the navigation path : Claims Management Next navigation step Claim Next navigation step Product Configuration Next navigation step Define Time Reference per Policy Product End of the navigation path ).

Result
