 Functions for Processing Policy Products

Prerequisites

Features

The following functions are available for processing policy products: First of all, always mark the relevant policy product and then execute the corresponding function.

Calling up the function

Display contents of a policy product

You can view a version of the policy product.

By default, the currently valid version of the policy product is displayed (in other words, renewal date of contract = now, claim date = now). But you can choose any other generation or version for display.

Choose Display..

Change contents of a policy product

You can change the contents of a policy product.

Choose Change .

Create policy product

You can create a new policy product.

Choose with the quick info text Create .

Copy policy product

You can create a copy of an existing policy product. You can then change this policy product and adjust it to suit your requirements.

Choose with the quick info text Copy .

Delete suspense entries

You can delete all suspense entries for the selected policy product.

Choose with the quick info text Delete Suspense Entry .

Back to old status of policy product

You can return to a previous version of the policy product.

Use this function if there are no suspense entries. If you wish to return from the current suspense version to a previously active version, use the function Delete Suspense Entries.

  1. Choose with the quick info text Back to Old Status .

  2. Enter the required date.

  3. The system then creates suspense entries. When they are activated, they produce the same situation that existed at this given date.

Check policy product

You can manually trigger the checks that are performed automatically before the policy product is activated

Activate policy product

Before you can use a policy product in the application, you have to activate it.

You can activate suspense entries or imported transport entries for the selected policy products. If the system has been configured accordingly, transport entries will also be created.

After successful activation, the suspense entries are deleted.

Choose with the quick info text Activate .

Display details on policy product

You can also view further details. The levels of detail are as follows:

  • Policy product

  • Generation of policy product

  • Version of the generation of the policy product

History for policy product

You can also view a list of all changes made in a policy product.

Choose with the quick info text History .

Update screen for policy products

You can update the Configure Policy Products screen.

Choose with the quick info text Update .

Display of only active policy products or all policy products

You can control whether only the active or also the inactive generations or versions of a policy product are displayed.

Choose with the quick info text Active <-> All .

Transport policy products

You can produce transport entries for the currently active generations and versions of the selected policy products.

  1. Choose with the quick info text Transport .

  2. Enter the required date.

  3. The system transports all versions that have been changed after this date.

Deactivate policy products

You can deactivate a policy product for a period.

If you deactivate a policy product for all periods (in other words, for all combinations of renewal dates of the contract and loss/claim date), then this policy product is deleted for all future periods.

The most common use of this function is to deactivate a policy product as from a particular date because it is no longer valid. By default the last policy product is valid for an unlimited period, to enable creation of claims.

Complete data for policy product

The policy product contains fields that the user does not see and that are filled automatically by the system.

We recommend that you execute this function in an upgrade or with a support package. This then ensures that all fields (including those that are not visible) are filled correctly.
