With this business function, you can activate the enhanced Web user interface of SAP Product Lifecycle Management (PLM Web UI) (see Web User Interface of SAP Product Lifecycle Management (PLM-WUI)).

Features

If you activate the business function /PLMU/WEB_UI_3: PLM Web User Interface 3, the following new functions are available to you:

  • Routing Component Assignment (see Routing Component Assignment (PLM-WUI-APP-RTG))

    Before creating the manufacturing BOM, you can create a routing based on the engineering product structure. You can visualize the planning-relevant components of your engineering product structure, using the viewer.

  • Enhanced engineering record to support the release process (see Engineering Record on the Web UI)

    You can execute a release process for PLM objects such as document, material, or bill of material.

  • BOM redlining (see BOM Redlining on the Web UI)

    You can document and make planned changes to a BOM visible.

  • Document browser (see Document Browser on the Web UI)

    You can manage documents structurally in folders.

  • Status and Action Management (siehe Status and Action Management on the Web UI (PLM-WUI-APP-SAM))

    You can execute the status and action management for the following PLM objects:

    • Material

    • Bill of material

    • Product variant

    • Product item variant

    • Product assembly header

    • Product assembly item

    The engineering record supporst the release process as follows:

    • Checks are performed before a status change.     If you already use SAP composite roles and want to make status changes on PLM objects, you must add the role SAP_PLWUI_STATUS_CHANGER to all composite roles that allow the changing of PLM objects (material, bill of material, document, product item, product item variant, assembly header, assembly item).

  • Enhancements for Guided Structure Synchronization (BOM to BOM)

    Background processing (see Synchronization in the Background)

    You can execute the Guided Structure Synchronization for material BOMs in the background. In the object navigator, you can navigate between the changes states of the source BOM and change states of the target BOM (see Object Navigator).

    With this business function, you do not activate any additional menu entries. If you want to call the PLM Web UI from the back-end system, you have to create role-specific user menus.
