 Staging and Consumption for Manufacturing Orders

 

The product feature EWM Integration into Manufacturing 2 (business function LOG_PP_EWM_MAN_2) enables you to use the new production material request business object in SAP Extended Warehouse Management (SAP EWM).

The production material request enables you to plan and execute material staging for process orders and production orders in SAP EWM without having to create deliveries in SAP ERP. This significantly reduces the number of delivery documents in SAP ERP, while at the same time affording a greater degree of flexibility to SAP EWM.

The business object is created in SAP EWM based on the information provided by SAP ERP.

If you use this product feature, the system adds a radio button for the production material request to the Customizing activity Generate Distribution Model from SAP ERP to SAP EWM.

It also adds EWM Staging to the list of predefined values for the staging indicator, which is available, for example, in the control cycle transactions (such as LPK1).

Customizing

To use the production material request, you must define a distribution model in Customizing for Logistics Execution under Start of the navigation path SAP EWM Integration Next navigation step Basic Setup of Connectivity Next navigation step Generate Distribution Model from SAP ERP to SAP EWM End of the navigation path.

You can manage the data that is transferred to SAP EWM to create or change the production material request using Business Add-In BAdI: Production Material Request. This BAdI is available in Customizing for Logistics Execution under Start of the navigation path Extended Warehouse Management Integration Next navigation step Production Planning and Control Next navigation step BAdI: Production Material Request End of the navigation path.
