SAP_APPL 603

In order to be able to use this function, you must also activate the business function LOG_LE_INTEGRATION — LE, Extended Warehouse Management Integration.

In Customizing you create distribution system profiles that control in which systems (SAP Retail or external warehouse) the adjustment and execution of merchandise distribution takes place. To control the generation of the deliveries, you can set relevant parameters.

You do this in Customizing for SAP Retail, by choosing

Start of the navigation path Logistics General Next navigation step Merchandise Distribution Next navigation step Create Distribution System Profiles End of the navigation path.

After creating the distribution system profiles, you must assign these to one or more warehouse numbers in Customizing: Start of the navigation path Logistics General Next navigation step Merchandise Distribution Next navigation step Assign Distribution System Profiles to Warehouse Numbers End of the navigation path.

Features

You can make the necessary preparations for merchandise distribution in the central SAP Retail system or in SAP ECC and perform the processing in an external Warehouse Management System (WMS). For the preparation, you can generate allocation tables in SAP Retail, and collective purchase orders in SAP Retail and SAP ECC.

You can distribute the tasks as follows:

  • The central SAP System (SAP Retail or SAP ECC) executes all preparation, adjustment and posting steps. It creates the outbound deliveries on the basis of the quantities adjusted according to the goods received. You can use the existing interfaces to the external WMS. The external WMS carries out the distribution; SAP Retail or SAP ECC posts the confirmation.

  • You use the central SAP Retail or SAP ECC system for preparation only - the external WMS is used for adjustment and execution. The confirmation is then posted in SAP Retail or SAP ECC

The external WMS must be able to copy and process the data for merchandise distribution from the SAP system. The relevant data for merchandise distribution is made available in an additional segment of the message type SHP_OBDLV_SAVE_REPLICA by way of IDoc.

To control the process, you create distribution system profiles. You then assign these to warehouse numbers (see "Prerequisites").

You can also generate deliveries in the background. There are new selection options here with which you can control the generation, for example, by warehouse number or by the different process methods.
