Background documentationClaim Status Management in Claim Bundle

When you are processing claim bundles, the Status Management tab page provides you with a list of claims (that belong to the claim bundle) with their relevant claim status. From this list you can close or reopen one or multiple claims, without having to navigate to the relevant claim. You can only change the status to Closed or Reopened. No other status change is permitted.

Prerequisites

  • You have activated the Business Function INS_FSCM_MULT_CONTR_1 (Insurance Claim Multiple Contract Handling).

  • You have defined the permitted status reasons for each internal claim type in Customizing activity Configure Internal Claim Types (path: Start of the navigation path Claims Management Next navigation step Claim Next navigation step Process Control (Internal Claim Types) Next navigation step Configure Internal Claim Types End of the navigation path).

In the Customizing activity, choose the level Claim Header and then Start of the navigation path Version of Internal Claim Type Next navigation step Permitted Claim Status Reasons End of the navigation path.

Features

The following functions are available on the Status Management tab page:

  • The system displays all claims that belong to the claim bundle in a list. The relevant claim status and possible reasons for changing the status are displayed for each claim.

  • You can close one or more claims with the status Open or Reopened.

    Proceed as follows:

    1. If you want to specify a reason for the status change, use the input help to choose such a reason.

      Note Note

If you want to close a claim in the line of Life, specifying a change reason is mandatory. For all other lines, this specification is optional.

      End of the note.
    2. Select the claim or claims that you want to close.

    3. Choose Close Claim.

      Note Note

You must save the claim bundle for the claim status change to become effective and for the claim to get the status Closed (see also the point below on undoing a status change).

      End of the note.
  • You can reopen one or more claims with the status Closed.

    1. If you want to specify a reason for the status change, use the input help to choose such a reason.

      Note Note

If you want to reopen a claim in the line of Life, specifying a change reason is mandatory. For all other lines, this specification is optional.

      End of the note.
    2. Select the claim or claims that you want to reopen.

    3. Choose Open Claim.

      Note Note

You must save the claim bundle for the claim status change to become effective and for the claim to get the status Reopened (see also the point below on undoing a status change).

      End of the note.
  • You can undo status changes.

To do so, choose Undo Changes (Undo Changes). The systen then undoes all claim status changes that have not been saved (see note as well).

    Note Note

You can only undo changes before you save the claim bundle.

    End of the note.
  • From the displayed claim list, you can navigate to change mode for a claim.

To do so, click the relevant claim number.
