SAP Claims Management offers the following interfaces:

Meaning

Policy management system (such as SAP Policy Management)

System for managing insurance policies and contracts.

SAP Business Partner

SAP standard system for managing master data on business partners.

You must use SAP Business Partner as the business partner system.

Collections and disbursements system (such as SAP Collections & Disbursements)

System for executing all insurance-specific special ledger functions such as open item accounting, payment processing, cash receipt processing, and dunning.

Financial accounting system (such as SAP FI)

System for management of general ledger accounting

Reinsurance system (such as SAP Reinsurance)

System for handling all the business processes related to reinsurance.

Supporting applications:

Business Rule Framework plus (BRFplus)

Application for mapping your business rules.

SAP Business Workflow

Application for automated control and processing of cross-application process flows.

Direct Input

You can also use direct input to import externally created claims sequentially into SAP Claims Management.

Business Intelligence system (such as SAP NetWeaver Business Intelligence)

System for extensive analyses.

SAP ArchiveLink

Tool for managing documents by means of archiving.

Microsoft Office ®

You can integrate different Microsoft Office ® applications.

Evaluation system

System that you can use to evaluate a claim item and possibly to determine the amount of the loss incurred.

SAP delivers the Business Add-In (BAdI) ICL_ESTIMAT_SYSTEM for this interface. Geographical information system (GIS)

Tool for finding suitable external services as quickly as possible. You can use the loss location or the address of the insured, for example, to determine the nearest auto repair shop.

Procurement system (such as SAP Supplier Relationship Management)

System that you can use to procure a replacement for a damaged object (a TV set, for example) for a claimant.

You can use the open catalog interface (OCI) to integrate external product catalogs and use them for procurement, for example.

Automated update of benefits catalogs in Workers Compensation

You can use the services of an external service provider to automatically update the benefit catalogs in Workers Compensation.

Claim networks

System that can be accessed via the internet by all persons involved in the claims process, regardless of the particular insurance. The functions vary according to the provider, but may include:

  • Message

  • Cost commitment (to repair shops)

  • Incorporate appraisal

  • Query status

    The major providers in Germany are AIDA (by Audatex) and DSN (by Dekra).
