You can use this function to print out a GS1-128 label as an output for a handling unit (HU). The GS1-128 label is used when shipping goods so they can be identified in accordance with the GS1 standard. The GS1-128 and one of its subcomponents, the Serial Shipping Container Code (SSCC), are defined in this standard. You can use this to identify the shipped handling units.

The GS1-128 was previously called EAN 128 until it was renamed in the year 2009.
This function is integrated in the packaging function. The PDF form for printing GS1-128 labels is called CFB_V6_EAN128_FORM
. You can copy this form and modify it in the Form Builder (transaction SFP
). The name of the print program is CFB_V6_EAN128_LABEL
.
You have made the following settings in Customizing for Logistics - General

You print the GS1-128 label using output control. The printed label contains the following data:
Plant
Serial Shipping Container Code (SSCC)
International Article Number (EAN)
Loading Weight
The loading weight that is displayed corresponds to the gross weight from the material master multiplied by the number of pieces, and does not include the load carrier.
Quantity of the material that is in / on the HU
Best-before date (BBD) / shelf life expiration date (SLED) of the batch
Order number and delivery number
Customer's purchase order number
HU number as a bar code
Material number in digits and as bar code
Batch number in digits and as bar code
You can also print out the GS1-128 label for HUs that are made up of a material mix or batch mix. In this case, the label only contains the bar code of the HU number.
Create a sales order.
Create an outbound delivery with (or without) reference to a sales order. Then choose Pack
pushbutton and check the output that is generated by selecting the HU and choosing .
To print out the GS1-EAN128 label, on the SAP Easy Access
screen, choose (transaction VL74
). After you have entered output type GS1, processing mode 1, and the relevant outbound delivery, the system selects the relevant output. Choose Print preview
and then Print
. You can print the label more than once.
