If you need to enter subrogation/recovery items that are not based on payments, you can create them manually. In addition to those items that have already been generated automatically (see Generating Subrogation/Recovery Receivables from Payment Items of Subclaims), you can add individual items manually.
Items not based on payments might be fees or charges that arise as a result of the subrogation/recovery process.
You have created a settlement and are currently processing subrogation/recovery on the Settlements
tab page.
In the Subrogation/Recovery Receivable
section, choose (Create Subrogation/Recovery Receivable
).
Enter the following mandatory data for the item of a subrogation/recovery receivable:
Coverage type
Benefit type
Note
The possible input values in these two fields come from the customizing of the dummy claim (see Customizing Settings for Collective Subrogation/Recovery)
Amount requested
This is the amount that the insurance carrier wishes to recover from the payer.
Save your entries.
Caution
Before you save, decide whether you want to post the subrogation/recovery receivable directly, or if you just want to park it for the time being (see Posting Subrogation/Recovery Receivables).
If you want to post the subrogation/recovery receivable immediately, you cannot enter any more items. In this case, do not save until you have entered all items.
As long as a subrogation/recovery receivable has not yet been posted, you can delete the individual items. To do so, mark the line with the item and then choose (Delete Subrogation/Receivable Item
).
Once you have entered all items for a subrogation/recovery receivable, you can post it.
