Use

New in NWBC 3.5

Navigation

  • You can now open multiple shell windows with SHIFT + click the work center icons. For more information see, 2.5 Multi-Windows .

  • You can hide and change the order of navigation tabs. For more information, see 2.3 Navigation .

  • You can enlarge the content area by collapsing the different navigation areas or switching to full screen mode with CTRL + ALT + F11 .

Side Panel

The side panel has been integrated into NWBC.

Menus

The menus have been rearranged and new menus have been added.

Role Maintenance in PFCG

The following new options have been added in transaction PFCG:

  • Side Panel

  • Launch Application

  • Visibility

All role-related features require a new NWBC ABAP runtime.

Personalization

You can personalize your settings as follows:

  • You can display your Easy Access favorites in the Favorites menu or as a work center.

  • You can show transaction codes in the navigation panel.

  • You can display the SAP menu instead of the user menu.

Administrator Configuration

Administrators can now make the following settings by using the admin configuration XML file:

  • Change and lock the configuration of end users

  • Change keyboard shortcuts to clearly distinguish them from custom ABAP transaction shortcuts

Launch Page

You can test roles in transaction NWBC by entering the role name into an entry field on the launch page.

Whitelist (Enhanced)

Administrators can define whitelist entries in a file in the admin folder.

Keyboard Shortcuts (Enhanced)

The following keyboard shortcuts related to using side panels are available:

Refresh Side Panel

The side panel applications are informed about changes in the application. This happens automatically, except in special cases, when selecting table lines in SAP List Viewer (ALV) tables, for example.

CTRL + D

Disconnect Side Panel

The side panel application does not react to changes within the current application. It is frozen and it remains unchanged even if other applications are started that do not have this side panel application assigned.

CTRL + T

Connect Side Panel

The side panel applications are informed about changes in the application and react to them.

Installation of NWBC 3.5 (for Desktop)

    • SAP GUI 7.20 with patch level 8 or higher

    • Microsoft .Net 3.5 SP1

    • For WTS installation: Hotfix 955692

  • Path for installation of NWBC for Desktop: C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP\NWBC35
