You, the customer, can use this function to monitor and rate the performance of your suppliers. Supplier performance management provides the following two functions for the analysis of your suppliers:

  • Supply base performance analysis

    You can use this function to analyze the performance of your entire supply base in a data flow process that includes SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse (SAP NetWeaver BW).

  • Direct performance analysis

    You can use this function to analyze the performance of a single supplier or a small number or suppliers in a data flow process that runs only in SAP Supply Network Collaboration (SAP SNC).

Integration

To use supply base performance analysis, you must integrate SAP SNC with SAP enhancement package 3 for SAP NetWeaver 7.0 usage type BI and Business Intelligence Content 7.46 (BI_CONT 746) to ensure that you can extract the data from SAP SNC to SAP NetWeaver BW.

Supply Base Performance Analysis

You can use this function to periodically analyze the performance of your supply base based on different rating criteria. With supply base performance analysis, you rate your suppliers in SAP SNC and extract the results from SAP SNC to SAP NetWeaver BW using data extractors. In SAP NetWeaver BW, the system calculates a score for the suppliers based on the results of the performance analysis in SAP SNC. To view the supplier's score and analyze the data, you call up standard queries. The standard queries display the results of the performance rating on different levels of aggregation. You call up the queries with the SAP Business Explorer (BEx) Analyzer tool. For more information, see Supply Base Performance Analysis.

Direct Performance Analysis

You can use this function to analyze the performance of one or more suppliers when the need occurs based on different rating criteria. With direct performance analysis, customers and suppliers can use standard queries that they access from the SAP SNC Web user interface to analyze the results of the supplier performance in real-time. The queries use operational data providers that directly read the relevant data from tables in SAP SNC. You can display the data in the queries using the standard SAP List Viewer or SAP Crystal Reports. For more information, see Direct Performance Analysis.
