Parallel Processing You can use this function to improve performance during planning. With parallel processing, Capable-to-Match distributes planning among several planning runs and executes these runs in parallel.
If the master data of your supply chain model is suited for this, CTM can form independent submodels from the supply chain model and can carry out an independent planning run for each submodel. Each submodel contains a specific number of location products including their sources of supply. CTM combines the following objects in a submodel:
All input and output products of a specific source of supply
Product in source location and target location in the case of external procurement
All products of a supersession chain
All products of a form-fit-function subset
You can also specify in the parallel processing profile in the
Resources
field, that CTM is also to consider the finitely scheduled or the finitely and infinitely scheduled resources. CTM then also combines the products in a submodel that
use the same production resources during in-house production
use the same transportation resources during external procurement
use the same handling resources during in-house production or external procurement
For finitely scheduled resources, you must use one of these settings to ensure finite scheduling.
Note
During parallel processing, the system does not consider the application of rules in CTM planning. In addition, the system does not support the simulation of supplies and demands during parallel processing.
For parallel processing you need a parallel processing profile. From the
SAP Easy Access
screen, choose
In the parallel processing profile, specify how many submodels CTM is allowed to form. The more submodels you allow, the better the performance of CTM planning can be. An improvement in performance, however, depends on the technical parallel processing capacity of the application server and the optimization server, as well as of liveCache.
You can specify the parallel processing profile in the CTM profile on the
Settings
tab page under
Technical Settings
in the
Parallel Processing Profile
field.
