CannibalizationThis workbook provides a first step for determining the effects of cannibalization within a product group (for example, a brand name).
Cannibalization is the phenomenon whereby sales of a product in a sales deal have a negative effect on sales of other products of the same enterprise.
You select a product group or brand name using a node of the product hierarchy. In addition, you have to specify a time period of several calendar weeks. It is useful, but not mandatory, to limit the query to one customer, one customer group or a sales region.
Then the total invoiced sales for a product are displayed on a weekly basis. These are broken down by sales deal. An undefined sales deal in this context corresponds to normal business. By analyzing the results over time, you can determine whether normal business has suffered due to a sales deal.
