Object Event Repository
The process below is an example business process of how you can implement the BI Content to monitor objects involved in events that have occurred across your supply chain.
Objects are packed at your supplier. Information about the packing event, for example the IDs of the objects involved, the business step that was taking place at the time, and the associated document, is saved and sent to SAP object event repository in an event capture notification (ECN). For more information about ECNs, see the SAP Library for SAP Auto-ID Infrastructure under .
The repository receives the ECN and processes the data. The settings
that you have made in Customizing determine whether and how the data is relevant
for reporting in Business Intelligence (BI). In Customizing, you define data
collection groups, which group data and connect events received in ECNs on
the basis of the combination of business step and disposition code in the
event. For each data collection group, you define the data collection group
type, which specifies the logic according to which the data will be evaluated
in BI. For more information about the settings you must make, see the Implementation
Guide (IMG) in Customizing for Event Management
under . Data
collected in the data collection groups is saved in the extractor table /SAPTRX/PTABIEC,
from where DataSources extract the relevant data.
In the BI system, you schedule regular data uploads from the repository. You can execute queries in the BI system. For information about the data flow from the repository to the BI system and about the queries that you can execute, see Analysis Scenario: Product Tracking and Authentication.
