Data Archiving

Context

If data is no longer needed for operations, you can archive it to reduce the database load and store it in an external store. You can still read the archived data. The data archiving functions are available for AS ABAP-based application systems as well as for AS Java-based applications systems with the appropriate technical specifications.

Procedure

To archive data from an AS ABAP-based application system, you use the functions in ADK data archiving (in some cases you also use the functions of XML DAS data archiving).
