Object documentationApproved Manufacturer Parts List

A list of manufacturer part numbers and manufacturers that a supplier can use for a particular product to be shipped to a customer during a specified period.

In the approved manufacturer parts list (AMPL), you specify a manufacturer and manufacturer part number (MPN) that can be used for a particular combination of the following characteristics:

  • Customer location

  • Supplier

  • Ship-from location

  • Product

Furthermore, you assign a validity period to this combination.

If the customer decides that he or she wants to temporarily block a particular MPN from being used with a specific customer location, ship-from location, supplier, and product combination during the specified validity period, he or she can select the Inactive checkbox.

Example

Customer A with location New York (CUSTALOCNY) purchases product SCREW–001 from a supplier (with ship-from location Philadelphia (SUPLOCPHIL). For this product, the supplier can procure the following MPNs:

  • MPNSCREW-001–A01 from manufacturer MFR-A

  • MPNSCREW-001–A02 from manufacturer MFR-A

  • MPNSCREW-001–B01 from manufacturer MFR-B

For the period January 2008 — December 2008 both MPNSCREW-001–A01 and MPNSCREW-001–A02 are acceptable for the customer. For the period November 2008 — December 2008, the MPNSCREW-001–B01 is also acceptable. The following table lists the entries that you must make in the AMPL:
