 Starting an Automated Planning Run

  1. On the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Start of the navigation path Advanced Planning and Optimization Next navigation step Maintenance and Service Planning Next navigation step Planning Next navigation step Maintenance and Service Planning Board End of the navigation path .

    For information about starting the planning board, see Starting the Maintenance and Service Planning Board .

  2. To start the automated planning run, choose Start of the navigation path Planning Next navigation step Planning Run End of the navigation path from the application menu or Planning Run from the application toolbar.

    The Planning Run dialog box appears, containing the data you selected on the initial selection screen. You can change or further restrict the Maintenance Object Group and Maintenance Object data in the Selection Parameters group box.

  3. Depending on whether you want to update or completely revise the existing plan, in the Planning Heuristic group box, choose

    1. Net Change Plan to update the existing maintenance plan by replanning maintenance demands that have an alert as well as their dependent demands, where necessary. It does not delete the existing plan.

    2. New Plan to delete the existing maintenance plan and completely replan all of the selected data.

  4. To check the planning board messages, choose Planning Log .

  5. If necessary, manually resolve any planning problems.

  6. To transfer the planning data immediately to SAP R/3, select the data to be transferred and choose Start of the navigation path MSP Planning Board Next navigation step Transfer to Execution System End of the navigation path .

    You can also transfer the data at a later point in time. For more information, see Transfer of MSP Data from SAP SCM to SAP R/3 .

  7. Save the maintenance plan and exit the planning board.
