Configuring the Initial Data Carrier Synchronization SettingsLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

You can configure the initial settings based on your requirements. This includes the location where you want to store the upload and download files, the type of data carrier you want to use, whether you want to encrypt the data, and so on.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the SAP NetWeaver AS and start transaction SDOE_DISC_SETTING .

  2. In the Source Directory field, fill the required path.

  3. In the Media Type field, select the required media type.

  4. To encrypt data, select Encryption .

  5. To digitally sign the data, select Signing .

  6. To allow partial copy of data, select Partial copy allowed.

    If you select this option, DOE enables you to copy the downloaded files anytime irrespective of the progress of the download operation. When the client device reads these partial data carriers, it sends the confirmation messages only for the messages that it received from the DOE.

  7. Choose Save .

Note

After you perform the configuration settings, you can transport these settings from the development environment to systems in the test and production environments. This simplifies your administration tasks as you do not have to repeat this activity for systems in the test and production environments. To transport the configuration settings, choose Transport .
