Selection Management To specify the objects for which you want to load data in a Web application of SAP Supply Network Collaboration (SAP SNC), you can enter the selection criteria separately each time you call an application. For example, if you want to see alerts for the product
wheel
in the locations
Hamburg
and
Munich
in the
Alert Monitor
, you enter this data as selection criteria.

You can only load data for location products for which you have authorization .
If, according to your area of responsibility, you always want to call data for the same objects in an application, you can simplify the data selection by using
selections. A selection is a predefined, application-specific group of selection criteria. You can use the selection to call the data in an application that is of interest to you, without having to enter the selection criteria every time. For example, you can define a selection in the
Alert Monitor
that contains the product
wheel
and the locations
Hamburg
and
Munich
as selection criteria.
You always create a selection, which you want to use for an application, in the corresponding application. For example, you create a selection for the
Alert Monitor
in the
Alert Monitor
and a selection for the
SMI Monitor
in the
SMI Monitor
.
When you save, you can classify a selection as user-specific or as partner-specific, as follows:
Partner-specific selection
A partner-specific selection is available for all users of a business partner.
User-specific selection
As standard, a user-specific selection is only available for you. With the relevant authorization, you can assign any user-specific selection to other users in selection assignment.
You can mark a selection as the default selection. When you call a Web screen, the selection field displays the default selection. To load the data according to this selection, you must choose
Go
.
To be able to create and process selections in the applications, you must be assigned theSAP_SMI_SELECTIONSrole.
To be able to assign a user-specific selection of one user to another user, you must be assigned theSAP_SMI_SELASSNrole.
