Use
This characteristic contains the number printed on the nota fiscal. By itself, it is not a unique number, but it becomes unique when it is combined with a legal entity and a series, as described for the following cases:
When you issue a nota fiscal, the R/3 System generates the nota fiscal number automatically. In the case of outgoing notas fiscais, the number becomes unique in the combination of business place + series + nota fiscal number.
When you receive a nota fiscal, the nota fiscal number is printed on the form you receive. In the case of incoming notas fiscais, the number becomes unique in the combination of partner + series + nota fiscal number.
