Opening a ModelLocate this document in the navigation structure

Context

You can open models that are saved in the local repository or in the shared repository or a source control system, to view or modify them as required. Each model that you open is displayed in its own tab in the workspace.

Procedure


  1. Click the Open button in the main toolbar, or choose Start of the navigation path Model  Next navigation step Open End of the navigation path. Alternatively, click the Manage task-panel toolbar button. The Manage Models task panel is displayed.

  2. In the task panel, expand the model structure that contains the model you need, and browse down to it.

  3. Either double-click the model or right-click the model and choose Open model from the context menu.

Results

The selected model opens in its own tab on the Design board.

If the model is saved in the shared repository or source control system and is not checked out to you or is checked out to another user, the model opens in read-only mode. You can then save a copy of the model, with a different name. For more information, see Saving a Copy of a Model or Development Component .
