Error and Conflict Handler (CA-FS-ECH)
You use this component to control the system response in the case of errors and conflicts in Service Operations. You can define whether Service Operations are executed again after errors and conflicts or terminated.
If you want to use the Error and Conflict Handler to process the error symptoms that result when you process asynchronous XI messages, the Error and Conflict Handler enables you to track centrally the XI status of decentrally processed XI messages. Note: The business user, not the administrator, tracks the changes.
The Error and Conflict Handler requires the use of the Postprocessing Office component. In the Error and Conflict Handler and in the Postprocessing Office, you can define the mode in which errors can be processed and by which group of persons.
The functions of the Error and Conflict Handler are integrated in the Postprocessing Office component. You can manually trigger the resubmission of Service Operations in the Postprocessing Desktop or schedule it periodically using the Resubmission of Postprocessing Orders function. In addition, you can use the generic data editor of the Error and Conflict Handler to display and change asynchronous XI messages.
In the Postprocessing Desktop, the Error and Conflict Handler provides the following functions:
Put in processing
You assign the postprocessing order to a user.
Repeat
You restart the Service Operation in which an error or conflict has occurred. If an error or a conflict does not occur after the restart, you post the result and close the postprocessing order.
Confirm
You close the postprocessing order as processed successfully. Regardless of the Service Operation, a positive confirmation is sent.
Discard
You close the postprocessing order as rejected. Regardless of the Service Operation, a negative confirmation is sent.
Generic Data Editor
You can use the generic data editor to display and change the Business Data that belongs to the postprocessing order.
Messages
Messages that belong to a postprocessing order are displayed chronologically with status messages from the Postprocessing Office.
Depending on the settings in Customizing, only certain functions are available for a service operation. In Customizing for Cross Application Components under , the Error and Conflict Handler provides the following functions:
Activate the Error and Conflict Handler
You can activate the Error and Conflict Handler for the current client:
Define Process Data
You can define the processes that the Error and Conflict Handler has to consider.
Define Postprocessing

Define Authorization Groups
You can define and assign authorization groups and the descriptions of authorization groups for the Error and Conflict Handler to an authorization object.
