Use

Before working with the Web Page Composer, carry out the initial configuration steps outlined below.

Prerequisites

      You have the following roles:

       System Administration

       Content Administration

       User Administration

 

      You have created a backup copy of the existing KM configuration data. For more information, see SAP Note 1000150. If errors occur during the configuration process that require you to restore the configuration data, see SAP Note 1000351 for information about restoring the previously backed-up configuration.

 

      You have configured the URL generator service.

If you want to make Web sites available externally, you have to specify a host that external users can reach in the URL generator service.

If you subsequently change the host name, you must publish all the Web pages again in order for the search to find the pages.

      You have activated the Map extensions (case-insensitive)parameter in the MIME Handler service.

Procedure

       1.      Optional: Modify the Web content repository (ID: /wpccontent).

By default, this repository contains all Web sites and all content created using the Web Page Composer.

If you want to use the approval workflow, make sure that the status management service (statemngt) and the service ACL service (svc_acl) are active. You can switch off services that you do not need.

       2.      Create a folder structure in the wpccontent repository.

       3.      Optional: You can configure entry points if you store shared Web content (for example, a company logo) in central folders.

You can then use these entry points to navigate directly to these folders in the Web content browser of the page editor.

       4.      Optional: To integrate iViews into Web pages, configure an entry point for iViews.

       5.      Give site owners, editors, authors, and visitors permissions for security zones.

Think about how you want to give users permissions for creating Web pages in the Web Page Composer. More information: Permissions in the Web Page Composer

 

       6.      Give site owners, editors, and authors initial permissions for folders in the Web content repository.

       7.      Configure the search for Web pages.

       8.      To be able to localize Web pages, configure languages and regions.

       9.      Optimize performance.
